Boundaries

Your bank card has a pin. Your email has a password. Your home has an alarm code. Why? Because they protect things that you value. Can you say the same about your personal boundaries? When we put a boundary around something it indicates that we value it. So does it make sense then to say that when we don’t have boundaries around something, it’s because we don’t value it? Don’t get it twisted, a boundary isn’t necessarily a barrier. It’s just a way to signal to ourselves and to others what we value. I mean, your phone requires your freaking fingerprint to unlock for crying out loud! What are your requirements for how you are treated? Take some time to evaluate what you value. Make sure you’re at the top of the list.
