SPIRITUAL IMMUNE SYSTEM pt. 1

SPIRITUAL IMMUNE SYSTEM pt. 1

Recently, a fascinating message came through for one of my clients. We were talking about some really old patterns (some were of an ancestral nature, some were more specific only to her) that she was wrestling with. She was really frustrated that these patterns were still active in her life. They were mainly focused around an old story telling her that she was responsible for the well-being of her family members. This story painted a picture of her needing to be in control of them and that she was their caretaker. She knew that this story was false, but it seemed to be stuck. The emotions she was having in connection with this pattern were mostly aggravation and anger at her family’s inability to behave the way she thought was best for them. She was saying she was ready to be done with these patterns, but she felt stuck. She didn’t understand why she was repeating the same experience over and over.

The wisdom that was offered to her talked about the concept of a spiritual and emotional immune system. This isn’t something I’d ever heard mentioned and interestingly is a concept that has proven relevant to my own life lately.

The gist of the guidance was rather than trying to eradicate or dismantle the old energy, to actually welcome it in so that it could fully move through her system. Only once it had been allowed to move freely could it resolve.

Full disclosure here: When I am channeling information in client sessions, I seldom recall all of the details. To write this post with the most accuracy, I asked my guides to come in and help me explain this idea of a spiritual immune system.

“The human instinct is generally one that guides you away from pain or discomfort. In this case however, the best course of action is to invite your emotional pain in. Give it permission to fully inhabit your system. Allow the energy of your emotional pain to rise. Welcome the physical responses to your emotional pain and give your body permission to feel them. Make room for the memories and recollections connected to the birth of your emotional pain to blossom in your mind. Your natural tendency to move away from pain is something that won’t serve you here."

“When your biological immune system is being formed, it is the exposure of your body to foreign pathogens that makes your body’s defenses stronger. Naturally, your response to many of these pathogens is illness. Now, most of you reading this wouldn’t knowingly volunteer to become ill. However, the truth is that it’s the illness that gives your body an opportunity to build a defense against it. In this case, your illness is the thing that prevents your body from getting sick again in the future.”

“The same can be said for your spiritual immune system. When your material self (mind, body, spirit, emotions) has not been allowed to live the full range of energies, emotions, and their connected experiences, it is weakened in its abilities to stay centered within Self and Truth. In this case, whenever you encounter circumstances that are charged with an energy or emotion you’ve not fully expressed or experienced, your created weakness puts you in a position where you may not be equipped to deal with it.”

“When you finally have a recorded experience of something, your system is now prepared to engage with it directly. Your system ‘learns’ what you need to stay balanced, centered, and connected in the future. Just like your biological immune system builds itself through lived experience. So too does your spiritual immune system.”

There’s SO much to unpack here. No doubt I will continue to explore this idea.

What this connects me to initially is my understanding of how emotions get “stuck” in our systems.

When something is too painful or overwhelming, there’s often a response of shutting down our emotional center. Another way we deal with it is by disassociating from our bodies. Regardless of how we respond in these moments, when we don’t let the cycle fully complete, we fragment ourselves and create patterns or loops. If these loops aren’t closed, or the patterns deactivated at some point, we will continue to repeat and recreate circumstances that bring us back to the original experience over and over in order to complete them. If they are not completed in a single lifetime, these patterns will continue to show up in other lives until they are.

This is also the genesis of coping mechanisms. Coping mechanisms are created in response as a means to make it through a challenging period or event. What most humans don’t understand is that these coping mechanisms must be discarded at some point in order to fully heal. Otherwise, it’s the equivalent of continuing to walk with a crutch or wear a sling long after a broken limb has been healed. When we don’t understand this process, generally what happens is, over time, these coping mechanisms are claimed as a part of our persona and we turn them into a personality trait.

This is the message I have been sharing a lot lately about who we really are vs. who we have to become to survive. The difference between the two is often quite dramatic.

It’s no surprise at all that this information came through during one of the most powerful passages I’ve experienced in recent memory. This eclipse season is no joke!

In part 2, I will share my own experience with this process. It’s not anything super complicated, but to understand it through the lens of a spiritual immune system really changes my perspective on it!
